Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift position requiring an active IL RN license and a willingness to float.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Medical Surgical unit of a Level 1 Trauma Center
• Night shifts, 3x12 hours per week, 7:00 pm to 7:30 am
• Every other weekend required, totaling 2 weekends per month
• Mandatory floating to any unit or other facilities within 50 miles, including units outside of primary competency
• Uses Cerner EMR system
• Navy blue scrubs are required
• RTO limited to 5 days total, with a maximum of 2 consecutive days and no RTO on weekends, holidays, or the days immediately before or after holidays
• Strict compliance with documentation deadlines is enforced
• Team-based support model is utilized if floated outside primary competency
• All returning resources must complete full recredentialing and orientation, regardless of recent work history
• Pre-start learning modules average 4 hours and must be completed before assignment begins

Requirements

• Active IL RN license in hand at time of application
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care Med/Surg experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
• Proof of COVID vaccination required (booster not required)
• Must be able to complete required lab work within 72 hours of accepting the assignment
• Modules and compliance requirements must be completed prior to start
• Candidates must live within 75 miles of the facility to be considered
• International candidates must have a Social Security Number prior to consideration
