Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring Epic experience and prior travel experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Women and Child unit within a hospital setting
• Focus on Labor & Delivery patients with responsibilities including LDRP and newborn care
• 12-hour day shifts with variable scheduling including weekends and potential for floating
• On-call required for 2 twelve-hour shifts within a rolling 4-week period
• Candidate must be available to work 2 out of the 4 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Day
• Use of Epic EMR required, with recent experience within the past 2 years
• Must be comfortable floating as needed within the Women and Child unit
• No block scheduling permitted; schedule adjusted to meet patient care needs
• Public transportation is not available in the area; candidates must have reliable transportation and vehicles should be equipped with all-season or snow tires from November to April
• Candidates must be able to explain any employment gaps over 90 days

Requirements

• Active VT or compact RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery and LDRP experience
• Current certifications: BLS and NRP required; ACLS, PALS (or PEARS), and STABLE preferred
• Prior travel nurse experience required
• Recent experience with Epic EMR system within the past 2 years is mandatory
• Ability to serve as the baby nurse at delivery, participate in neonatal resuscitation, assign APGAR scores, and administer newborn medications
