Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Night ICU assignment in New York that requires recent critical care experience and a NY RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU/CCU) of a hospital setting
• Patient population includes critically ill adults requiring complex care
• Night shifts with 12-hour shifts, three shifts per week
• Weekend and holiday coverage required
• No on-call requirement
• 13-week contract assignment
• Candidates must live at least 75 miles from the facility
• May be required to assume charge nurse duties as needed
• Strong leadership and problem-solving skills are essential
• Ability to assess and safely move patients is required
• Must function well in stressful situations
• Previous employees must not have worked at the facility within the past 2 years and must be eligible for rehire

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required
• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• PALS certification preferred
• Critical care experience preferred
• Must have completed at least one successful traveler assignment
• Coronary care course or successful completion of challenge exam required within orientation
• Basic lethal dysrhythmia competency required within six months of employment
• NIHSS certification required within first 6 months of employment
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
