Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring a SC or compact license, 2 years of PCU experience, and Epic proficiency.

Responsibilities

Position in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of an acute care hospital with 304 staffed beds
Day shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week (7:00 am – 7:00 pm)
Patient ratio of 1:4
Floating may be required within the PCU scope or to similar units as needed
Weekend coverage required every other weekend if needed
No on-call responsibilities
Uses Epic electronic medical record system
Royal blue scrubs required
Expected to deliver high-quality PCU nursing care to adult patients
Must complete required facility modules prior to start
Parking passes are provided at badge pickup with no fee, parking garages available
May be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June–November)
All requested time off (RTO) must be included at time of application and is subject to approval based on facility needs
Holiday coverage may be required based on schedule
Candidates must only apply to one facility and/or unit at a time

Requirements

Active SC RN or compact/multi-state RN license
Minimum 2 years of recent PCU RN experience
Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
NIHSS certification preferred
Experience with Epic EMR required
Able to work with a 1:4 patient ratio
Must provide driver's license and SSN for consideration
Previous permanent staff (including PRN) must have been separated for at least 1 year
First-time travelers not accepted
Candidates must live at least 60 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates; locals considered on a case-by-case basis
