Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist with at least 2 years of experience in vascular and neuro procedures for a 13-week acute care assignment.

Responsibilities

• Assignment is in an acute care setting within an Interventional Radiology department
• Covers both vascular and neuro interventional radiology cases
• Handles an average caseload of 20-30 cases per day, varying by provider coverage
• Utilizes Canon equipment in body/vascular IR rooms, Siemens Artis Q and Iconos in neuro rooms, and GE ultrasound equipment in all rooms
• Schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with 1-2 call shifts per week and call required every 3rd or 4th weekend
• Possible holiday call required with a 30-minute call back time
• Uses Epic as the charting system; experience with Epic preferred
• Duties include maintaining sterile technique, preparing patients and equipment, monitoring patient status, assisting with procedures, and accurate documentation
• Participates in on-call and emergent procedure rotations and may act as part of the code team under physician supervision
• Responsibilities include instructing radiography students, inventory management, and participation in quality improvement activities
• Scrubs are provided
• Radiation badge must be provided by the traveler’s agency
• Previous employees and travelers must adhere to reapplication rules based on facility guidelines
• No local travelers permitted within a 50-mile radius

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years recent experience as an IR Technologist
• Current ARRT(R) and BLS certification required, ACLS preferred
• Experience in vascular and advanced neuro interventional procedures such as cerebral angiography, coiling, kyphoplasty, spine work, stroke therapy, and carotid stenting
• Ability to monitor and interpret hemodynamic data and patient ECG/blood pressure
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility
• Candidates who have previously worked as permanent staff or travelers must have a 2-year break before reapplying
• License required if applicable
