Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Stepdown RN with a CA license, BLS, and NIHSS certifications for a day shift position with float and weekend rotation requirements.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a stepdown unit within an acute care hospital setting
• Primary patient population includes adults requiring stepdown level care
• Day shifts, 3x12 hours, 7:00-19:30 with weekend rotation included
• Float required to all associated campuses based on census needs
• Must be flexible to float mid-shift if required
• Responsibilities include patient assessment, care coordination, direct patient care, education, and transition planning
• Emphasis on fostering collaborative relationships with patients, families, and the healthcare team
• Only one holiday off will be approved for requested time off
• Candidates must be available for lab work within 3-5 days of contract acceptance

Requirements

• Active unrestricted CA RN license required
• Current AHA BLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent stepdown experience required
• Must comply with a 50 mile radius rule for eligibility
• Past employees must be separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
