Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced PACU RN with recent post-anesthesia recovery expertise and a current NY RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in a PACU unit within a short-term acute care teaching hospital
• Patient population includes Phase I and II recovery, endoscopy/laparoscopic cases, general surgery, and orthopedic cases including spine and total joints
• Day shift schedule from 11:00 am to 7:30 pm with five 8-hour shifts per week
• Requirement for two weekend call shifts and two weeknight call shifts per month
• Uses Epic EMR, with Epic experience preferred
• Scrubs are provided in teal
• Duties include providing care to post-anesthesia patients during immediate and ongoing recovery
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Scrub color is teal and is provided by the facility
• On-call responsibilities are required on both weekends and weeknights each month
• The position is at a large teaching hospital

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required
• Minimum of 1 year PACU nursing experience
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and PALS
• Phase I PACU and Phase II recovery experience required
• Experience with orthopedic, endo/laparoscopic, and general surgical cases required
• Local candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
