Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position with day/night rotations and floating requirements.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Med/Surg Tele unit within a critical access hospital
• Day and night shift rotations with advance notice provided for shift changes
• Expected nurse-to-patient ratio is 4:1
• Assignment may require floating between multiple units and facilities based on organizational needs
• May be placed on-call due to census fluctuations
• Weekend shifts may be required, typically every other weekend
• Epic EMR is used and prior experience is required
• Responsibilities include caring for a diverse medical-surgical and telemetry patient population
• All travelers should expect to float to other units and facilities as needed
• Scrubs in any color are permitted
• Holiday shifts may be required as part of the assignment
• Minimal to no time off requests are allowed; extensive RTO requests may hinder consideration
• Parking is free at the facility
• If floating consecutive shifts to other facilities, hotel accommodations may be provided
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position

Requirements

• Active OR RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years RN experience in Med/Surg Tele or a comparable specialty
• Current BLS certification required
• Must possess reliable transportation for assignment and facility floating
• Recent experience working with Epic charting system is required
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and may not live within 50 miles of the facility
• Minimum of 2 supervisory references from the last 3 years covering at least 1 year in a comparable specialty/setting
