Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring BLS, ACLS, PALS, and dysrhythmia interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Work in the PACU of a hospital setting
• Shift hours are 11:00 to 20:30, working 4x9-hour day shifts
• On-call required for 2 weeknights per 6-week schedule
• Care provided for patients recovering from a wide variety of surgical procedures including bariatric, vascular, ENT, eyes, GI, GYN, ortho, neuro, and trauma
• Responsibilities include vent management, pain management, arterial and central line management, IV drips, and blood product administration
• Recovery duties span all anesthesia types, including conscious sedation, epidural, general, local, monitored anesthesia care, nerve blocks, and spinal
• Uses computerized documentation systems
• Responsibilities include advanced post-anesthesia care and monitoring of diverse patient populations
• Must manage a wide variety of recovery interventions and medication administrations, including IV drips and analgesics
• Team-oriented environment with support for complex surgical recoveries
• Must be comfortable with computerized charting and multi-procedure patient oversight

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• At least 1 year of PACU or ICU experience required
• Skills in dysrhythmia interpretation, vent management, RASS, PCA pump management, blood product and reversal agent administration required
• Experience recovering varied surgical cases as listed required
• PDF copy of Driver’s License and Social Security Number required for consideration
• Two professional references required at time of consideration
