Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift contract position requiring a current TN or compact RN license and AHA BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Work in a medical-surgical unit within a hospital setting
• Night shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week from 18:30 to 07:00
• Floating to other units is required
• No on-call responsibilities
• General orientation begins on Sundays, including online competency-based learning modules
• Contract nurses are expected to participate in nursing student clinical education in addition to patient care
• Team members may have shifts flexed or canceled biweekly due to hospital census changes
• Nonbillable orientation totals 16 hours
• Local candidates within the 100-mile radius are not eligible for this position

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required at the time of consideration
• AHA BLS certification required
• Permanent residence must be at least 100 miles from the hospital’s service area
• Experience in medical-surgical nursing strongly preferred
