Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with active GA or compact licensure and both circulate and scrub expertise for a diverse surgical setting.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the main Operating Room serving adult to geriatric patients
• Cases include General, Neuro, Spine, Ortho, Robotics, Urology, Vascular, and Colorectal surgeries
• Sixteen ORs with an average daily census of 35 cases
• Equipment used includes Epic EMR, Pyxis, and two DaVinci XI robots
• Work schedule is four 10-hour day shifts (6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.)
• Required to work 2–3 weekends per 8-week schedule, either in-house or on call
• Call required: 7–8 calls per 8 weeks, including 1 weekend call and 2–3 weekday night calls
• Floating is rare but may occur within facility and scope of practice as needed
• Maximum 7 days RTO allowed; no RTO during first week; blackout dates during Spring Break (April 4–12)
• Facility-provided scrubs must be worn
• Responsible for circulating and scrubbing on a wide variety of surgical cases
• Must participate in holiday coverage as determined by the number of major holidays during the assignment
• Full compliance required prior to start to ensure timely orientation
• No travel pairs allowed on the same shift in the same unit
• Blocked scheduling is not permitted
• Orientation hours are based on contract length
• Locals are accepted at the same rate

Requirements

• Active RN license in GA or a compact state required
• Minimum 1 year of recent OR RN experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Circulate and scrub experience required
• Experience with adult and geriatric patient populations required
• Proficiency with Epic, Pyxis, and DaVinci XI robots preferred
• First-time travelers may be considered
• Must provide two supervisory references from current or recent managers
• Must have been away from all Piedmont facilities for at least 1 year to return as traveler
• Travelers unable to return to a facility must complete a successful assignment outside of Piedmont before being considered again
