Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Cath Lab position requiring an active AZ or compact RN license and ACLS/BLS certification.
Responsibilities
- Work in an acute care hospital Cardiac Cath Lab with 3 procedure rooms and a hybrid OR
- Patient population includes cardiac, interventional cardiology, vascular, structural heart, electrophysiology, and interventional radiology cases
- Average of 15-20 cases per day with 3-4 person teams depending on case complexity
- Schedule is four 10-hour day shifts per week, Monday to Friday, 0700-1730
- Call coverage required, typically 7-10 days per month including one weekend a month (Friday 1730–Monday 0700)
- Expected to work one summer and one winter holiday call per year
- Call response time required within 30 minutes
- No regular floating to other departments, but possible in special circumstances
- Uses Cerner EMR and Merge hemodynamic charting system; all procedure rooms are equipped with Phillips x-ray tables and specialized devices
- RN duties include circulating cases, administering medications and sedation, monitoring patients during procedures, and assisting with advanced interventions as trained
- Department features support from an interim manager, charge nurse, interventional cardiologist, and technologists
- Orientation includes one day of hospital training and two days of department-specific training
- Hospital provides scrubs to be worn while in the cath lab; street clothing worn to and from work
- Holiday and weekend call participation is required
- Returning candidates must not have been employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facilities in the past year

Requirements
- Active AZ or compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications through AHA required
- Minimum of 1 year acute care RN experience required; 2–3 years in cath lab or interventional radiology strongly preferred
- Experience with vascular and/or structural heart cases preferred
- Familiarity with Cerner and Merge EMR systems preferred
- Must provide two professional references: one supervisor from within the past 12 months and one supervisor or peer from within the past 3 years, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
- Copy of driver’s license required
- Must pass Relias Dysrhythmia exam and sterile technique skills test prior to start
- Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify

Cost of living is High, roughly $2000-2500 for your own private space. Float between East and West Campus, 25 minutes apart, west will likely be where you spend 75% of your shifts so pick your housing accordingly.
