Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist for an inpatient acute care setting with Level 2 trauma experience required and strong multidisciplinary teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Position is in an acute inpatient occupational therapy department serving adult and pediatric ICU, trauma, neuro, orthopedics, oncology, and general med-surg populations
• Covers adult and pediatric acute inpatient units, ICUs, and inpatient rehab programs
• Level 2 trauma center and primary stroke center designation
• Day shift position with 8 hour shifts and variable days; weekend and holiday coverage required
• Department uses Cerner charting, transitioning to Epic; experience preferred
• Average caseload is approximately 9 evaluations and 16 treatments per therapist per day
• Must be flexible to cover multiple program areas as needed
• Responsibilities include ADL evaluation, treatment planning, and documentation to justify next level of care
• Must demonstrate flexibility and strong teamwork within a multidisciplinary team including rehab aides and COTAs
• Departmental orientation is provided and varies based on skill
• Solid color scrubs in clean, professional attire are required
• All onboarding including WI state license must be completed according to specified timelines or start date may be delayed
• Candidates who previously worked for this client must have a 6 month break in service and facility approval
• Candidates living within 80 miles of the facility are considered local and subject to reduced local rates

Requirements

• Current Occupational Therapy license required if applicable, must be active by start date
• Minimum 1 year of recent OT experience in acute inpatient settings
• Current BLS certification required; NBCOT certification preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary
• ADL evaluation and documentation skills required
• Two professional references required; at least one must be from a supervisor
• Experience with Cerner EMR is preferred
