Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a Radiology Technologist with at least 1 year of radiography experience, BLS, ARRT, and Virginia Radiology license for a diagnostic radiology role requiring OR and fluoro skills.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a diagnostic radiology setting serving geriatric and cardiac patient populations
• Average caseload of 50–60 cases per 8-hour shift
• Duties include general diagnostic radiography, fluoroscopy assistance, digital imaging, and operation of radiographic equipment
• Work schedule is 8-hour mid shifts from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, Monday through Friday with no call requirements
• PACS and Radiology Information System (RIS) experience required
• Epic EHR experience preferred
• No local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius
• Main duties include performing general radiographic procedures, assisting with fluoroscopic and specialized procedures, and verifying consent and clinical documentation
• Responsible for patient positioning, immobilization, assessment, radiation safety, and documentation of procedure details
• Will work collaboratively with technologists, physicians, and staff to provide patient-centered care
• Must follow ALARA principles for radiation safety
• No EKG exam required
• Candidates should demonstrate strong teamwork, critical thinking, and professional communication skills
• A two-step interview process is conducted, with the second interview by the manager
• Pass/fail EKG testing administered on the first day, with two attempts allowed and study guides provided

Requirements

• Current ARRT certification required
• Current BLS certification required
• Virginia Radiology license required if applicable
• Minimum of 1 year radiography experience required, 2 years preferred
• OR and fluoroscopy experience required
• Experience with PACS and RIS documentation required
• Travel experience preferred
• Associate’s degree from an ARRT-accredited program preferred
