Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med Surg position in a Medical ICU, requiring a current MI RN license and at least two years of recent Med Surg experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Medical ICU within a hospital
• Med Surg patient population
• Three 12-hour night shifts per week (7PM-7AM)
• Floating required to units of equal or lesser acuity and to a nearby sister hospital if needed
• No blocked scheduling allowed
• Responsibilities include coordinating and delivering quality, compassionate patient care using the nursing process
• Must effectively communicate pertinent patient and family information to the healthcare team
• Participation required in online modules with a passing score prior to start; usually completed onsite 1 week before the assignment begins
• Time off requests must be submitted before starting; post-offer RTO requests will be considered by management
• Allow at least 2 weeks for background and drug screening to be completed before start date

Requirements

• Active Michigan RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med Surg experience
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• Previous Level 2 Trauma experience preferred
• COVID vaccine is mandatory
