Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for night shifts with Epic EMR experience and a SC or compact license.

Responsibilities

• Position based in an acute care hospital ICU setting
• Coronary and intensive care patient population with ratios of 1:1-2
• Night shifts, 3x12 hours, 7:00 pm – 7:30 am
• Every other weekend shifts required (12 weekend shifts during contract)
• Floating required within scope and to like units as needed
• Uses Epic EMR system
• Block scheduling may be approved according to unit needs
• Locals accepted on a case-by-case basis within a 60-mile radius
• Primary responsibilities include providing specialized nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU
• Royal blue scrubs required
• All required onboarding modules must be completed prior to start
• Parking pass provided at no cost, garages available with clearance for average size SUV/truck
• All time-off requests must be submitted with application; approval is based on facility needs
• Holiday shift coverage may be required
• Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June-November)
• Travelers may only be assigned to one facility and/or unit at a time

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required and must be in hand prior to start
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU RN experience
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS (AHA certifications only)
• Experience with CRRT (Prismax) preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• First-time travelers accepted
• Must provide valid driver’s license and Social Security number for consideration
• Previous permanent employees or PRN must be separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
