Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Flex Pool Med/Surg and Step Down position in Hawaii requiring a HI RN license and recent inpatient experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Flex Pool floating between adult Med/Surg, Laulima (surgical acute), and Cardiovascular step down units
• 12-hour day shifts from 0645 to 1915 with a 36-hour work week following orientation
• Floats as needed to Medical, Laulima, and occasionally Cardiovascular units
• Meditech EMR is used in all departments
• Pyxis, wound vacs, and chest tubes utilized in patient care
• Bed counts: Medical unit 77, Laulima 18, Cardiovascular 15
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: Medical 1:6 (days/eves), 1:8 (nights); Laulima 1:6; Cardiovascular 1:4, subject to change
• Orientation provided for each unit prior to start
• All new hires must complete Employee Health screening 48 to 72 hours prior to assignment
• Travelers should plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before Monday start to attend Employee Health screening
• Clean professional nursing scrubs required
• Float assignments are determined by unit needs and staffing levels
• Initial schedule may vary based on orientation requirements

Requirements

• Active HI RN license required by assignment start date
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Med/Surg or Step Down experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Preferred but not required: PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC certifications
• Experience with Meditech EMR, pyxis, wound vac, and chest tube management preferred
• Proof of immunity required; medical and religious exemption requests will not be accepted
