Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Orthopedics position requiring charge experience, BLS and Epic proficiency.
Responsibilities
- Work on a 29-bed orthopedic unit providing care for adult and geriatric patients
- Patient population includes total joint replacements, fracture repairs, kyphoplasties, and other surgical and medical patients
- Physical therapy gym available on-unit for patient rehabilitation
- Telemetry monitoring is available for appropriate patients
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week from 7:00am to 7:30pm
- Required to work every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating required as needed
- Responsible for providing nursing care to orthopedic and med/surg patient populations
- Unit supports high volume of orthopedic procedures and surgical cases
- Self-study for the EKG exam is required as study materials are not provided
- Strict adherence to attendance and punctuality policies required
Requirements
- Active NC or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Current BLS certification required
- Charge RN experience required
- Epic EMR experience mandatory
- Must pass a mandatory EKG exam during compliance (two attempts allowed)
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
