Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Orthopedics position requiring charge experience, BLS and Epic proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Work on a 29-bed orthopedic unit providing care for adult and geriatric patients
• Patient population includes total joint replacements, fracture repairs, kyphoplasties, and other surgical and medical patients
• Physical therapy gym available on-unit for patient rehabilitation
• Telemetry monitoring is available for appropriate patients
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week from 7:00am to 7:30pm
• Required to work every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required as needed
• Responsible for providing nursing care to orthopedic and med/surg patient populations
• Unit supports high volume of orthopedic procedures and surgical cases
• Self-study for the EKG exam is required as study materials are not provided
• Strict adherence to attendance and punctuality policies required

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Charge RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience mandatory
• Must pass a mandatory EKG exam during compliance (two attempts allowed)
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
