Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position on night shifts with every other weekend required and floating within specialty as needed.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 30-bed Med/Surg Tele unit in a hospital setting
• Observation unit with quick patient turnover and average daily census of 28
• Patient population includes chest pain, abdominal pain, UTI, renal (peritoneal dialysis handled by dialysis nurses), and trauma/ortho cases
• Nurse to patient ratio is 1:5-6 with lower acuity
• Night shifts: 3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30
• Required to work every other weekend with four weekends in a four-cycle schedule
• Float within Med/Surg Tele specialty and to a nearby facility as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Royal blue scrubs required
• RNs responsible for clamping/unclamping and documenting peritoneal dialysis exchanges
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Holiday shifts are required according to the hospital’s schedule

Requirements

• Active MD or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg Tele nursing experience required
• Certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale required
• CPI certification completed during onboarding on-site
