Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring cardiac telemetry experience, ACLS/BLS/NIHSS certifications, and Epic EMR proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of an acute care hospital
• Day shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Weekend and holiday rotation required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Patient ratio is 1:5 in the PCU
• Will float to other units or campuses within the health system as needed
• Epic EMR system is used and experience is mandatory
• Responsible for managing cardiac telemetry patients and interpreting dysrhythmias
• Peripheral line and PICC line care required as part of daily duties
• Administer and titrate cardiac drips as indicated by patient condition
• No study materials will be provided for the EKG exam, so candidates should prepare in advance
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
• Prior experience with cardiac telemetry and management of dysrhythmias is required
• Experience with peripheral line care, PICC line management, and titration of drips required
• Must have prior experience with PCU patient ratios
• Epic EMR experience is mandatory
• All candidates must pass a mandatory EKG exam (two attempts allowed) during compliance
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
