Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with strong neuro skills and previous travel experience for a night shift role requiring a KY or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the ICU within a hospital setting
• Night shifts, 3x12 hours (19:00 - 07:00)
• Requires working 3-4 weekend shifts per month (Friday or Saturday nights)
• Patient population includes neuro, post thoracic, post crani, and neurosurgery cases
• Nurse-to-patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:2+
• Responsibilities include airway and vent management, artline, central line, IV drip and vasopressor titration
• Use of computerized documentation
• Manage a diverse post-surgery and neuro-critical care caseload
• Must be able to manage isolation precautions and continuous IV sedation
• References required for consideration
• Experience with femoral-popliteal bypass, carotid endarterectomy, and post-neurosurgical patients preferred

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license required
• NIHSS, ACLS, and BLS certifications required
• Minimum 1.5 years of recent ICU experience required
• Strong neuro experience required
• Previous travel experience required
• Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Proficient in ABG and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Computerized documentation experience required
