Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Neuro position requiring a MO or compact RN license and stroke experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital setting on a Medical Surgical Neuro unit
• Care for neuro patients with a typical ratio of 1:5-6
• Night shift position with 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
• Rotation includes weekends, holidays, and potential work during inclement weather
• Floating required to other Med/Surg units as needed
• Cerner EMR experience preferred but not required
• Responsibilities include providing neuro-focused care to diverse patient populations
• Night shift in a facility open 24/7 requiring flexibility with schedule
• Role involves routine contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses
• First time travelers are welcome to apply
• CPI Blue Card only required for Behavioral Health roles, not this position
• Required time off (RTO) must be submitted with application

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum of 2 years RN experience with at least 1 year in Med/Surg Neuro specialty
• Current BLS certification required
• Stroke care experience required
• NIHSS and ACLS certifications preferred
• Ability to perform physical tasks including ambulating, reaching, and moving objects over 20 lbs
• Must be able to work assigned shifts, weekends, and at least half of contract holidays
• 75 mile radius rule applies for local candidates who will be considered at a reduced rate
