Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a high-acuity Surgery Trauma Med/Surg night shift position with strong neuro trauma experience and Epic EMR proficiency.
Responsibilities
- Work on the Surgery Trauma unit of a hospital with high acuity patients
- Patient population includes spinal neuro trauma, surgical cases, gunshot wounds, quadriplegic, and paraplegic patients
- Patient ratio is 5:1
- Night shift position with 12-hour shifts, three shifts per week
- No block scheduling; candidates must be flexible with shift assignments
- Uses Epic EMR system, prior Epic experience required
- No on-call required
- Nursing support techs, phlebotomists available, and unit secretary support at night
- Work collaboratively with a support team including nursing techs, phlebotomists, and unit secretary
- Nurse handoff completed by ED nurse and admitting unit
- No requests for time off (RTO) will be honored for this assignment
- Two references from recent, similar experience required for consideration
Requirements
- Active GA or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Minimum of 2 years recent experience in medical/surgical surgery trauma nursing
- Prior experience with high acuity neuro trauma patients preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
