Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Oncology position in a mixed acuity PCU and MS unit, requiring MS and oncology experience and an active OH or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
- Work in an oncology unit with mixed acuity, including PCU and medical-surgical patients
- Patient population includes adults with leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, amyloidosis, and myelodysplastic syndromes
- Specialized in autologous, syngeneic, and allogeneic transplants as well as CAR-T therapy
- Schedule includes three 12-hour day or night shifts per week, with the possibility of rotating shifts depending on departmental needs
- Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation required
- May be floated based on staffing priorities
- Provide nursing care to oncology patients undergoing complex treatments and transplants
- Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary care team focused on hematology and oncology
- Participation in Rapid Response situations may be expected
- No chemo certification required for consideration
- First-time travelers are accepted
- No specific break required between assignments for nurses
- Dress code and holiday coverage requirements not specified
Requirements
- Active OH or compact RN license required
- Minimum 1 year of recent MS and oncology experience
- Completion of BLS certification
- MS/Tele and telemetry monitoring skills required
- Experience with feeding tube care, blood product administration, central and peripheral line management, and PICC management required
- Experience with Rapid Response Teams preferred
- Heme Onc experience strongly preferred
- ACLS and ONS Chemotherapy Certification are preferred but not required
