Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an Occupational Therapist with 18 months or more acute care hospital experience, BLS, and an IN or Compact license for a day-shift assignment in a multidisciplinary inpatient rehab team.

Responsibilities

• Work in an inpatient acute care rehabilitation unit within a hospital setting
• Day shift position, Monday through Friday, with one weekend day per month required
• Part of a rehab team comprising 19 professionals
• Caseload includes patients across all acuity levels, including ICU and progressive care, with diagnoses such as CABG, cardiac procedures, stroke, TBI, joint replacement, fractures, respiratory illnesses, dementia, MS, Parkinson’s, and ambulation difficulties
• EMR is Cerner, and Cerner charting experience is required
• Floating within the hospital or to an affiliate hospital may be necessary
• Responsibilities include patient evaluation, developing and following plans of care, providing ADL training, therapeutic interventions, and making daily discharge recommendations
• Scrub attire is royal blue with black shoes
• Team consists of OTs and other rehab professionals with diverse expertise
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the assignment
• Up to 5 days of requested time off will be auto-approved
• Former perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before eligibility as a traveler
• Allied and Periop applicants are eligible to apply regardless of local status

Requirements

• Active Occupational Therapist license in IN or Compact state required if applicable
• Minimum 18 months to 2 years of experience as an OT in an acute hospital setting required
• Current BLS certification from AHA or RQI, valid upon consideration
• NBCOT certification required
• Manual Therapy and Lymphedema credentials preferred
• Degree from a university accredited by ACEN or CCNE at the time of graduation
• Cerner EMR experience required
