Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Trauma Neuro ICU night shift position requiring recent ICU experience and IN or compact licensure.
Responsibilities
- Work in a 24-bed Neuro Trauma Intensive Care Unit at a Level 1 Trauma Center
- Cares for critically ill trauma, neuro, and surgical patients
- Patient population includes blunt force and penetrating trauma, strokes, aneurysms, brain tumors, seizures, spinal cord injuries, and post-surgical cases
- Handles advanced procedures such as hemodynamic monitoring, massive transfusion protocols, ICP monitoring, brain tissue oxygenation, ventricular drains, and continuous dialysis
- Nurse-to-patient ratios are 2:1
- Night shift, working 7:00pm-7:30am with every other weekend required
- Holiday and hard-to-fill shifts may be required
- Uses Sunrise (SCM) EHR system
- Provide specialized care to neuro, trauma, and surgical ICU patients in a collaborative environment
- Team is composed of highly skilled RNs trained on advanced monitoring and critical interventions
- Must wear royal blue scrubs
- This is a designated Stroke Center for Excellence and Transplant Center
- First-time travelers will be considered
- Holiday scheduling and RTO requests will be accommodated per unit policy
- Radius rule applies for local candidates and may affect pay rates
Requirements
- Active RN license for Indiana or compact state
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
- Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required
- Nursys license verification needed within 30 days prior to start
- U.S. Social Security Number and valid U.S. home address required
- Copy of driver’s license required for consideration
