Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgical ICU position requiring a MD or compact license, strong SICU background, and ability to work night shifts.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Surgical ICU of a Level II Trauma Center
- Care for a diverse patient population including trauma, transplant, vascular, GI, ortho-spine, and oncology patients
- Provide care to ICU and post-surgical patients following trauma, vascular, GI, orthopedic/neuro spine, and general surgery procedures
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 12-hour shifts
- Required to work 3 out of 6 weekends per 6-week schedule
- Holiday coverage as needed
- Float to other ICUs or IMCs as required
- Uses Epic EMR
- Provide specialized nursing care to critical post-surgical and trauma patients in a high-acuity ICU setting
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary ICU team in a fast-paced trauma environment
- Orientation and training provided on unit policies and Epic EMR
- Scrub color/dress code follows facility policy
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate except at specified locations subject to a 60-mile rule
Requirements
- Active MD or compact RN license
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- A minimum of 2 years recent Surgical ICU experience in a large facility (500+ beds)
- Experience in a Level II Trauma Center required
- At least 2 previous travel assignments in similar settings
- Epic charting experience required
- Critical Care Certification and trauma course preferred
