Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgical ICU position requiring a MD or compact license, strong SICU background, and ability to work night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Surgical ICU of a Level II Trauma Center
• Care for a diverse patient population including trauma, transplant, vascular, GI, ortho-spine, and oncology patients
• Provide care to ICU and post-surgical patients following trauma, vascular, GI, orthopedic/neuro spine, and general surgery procedures
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 12-hour shifts
• Required to work 3 out of 6 weekends per 6-week schedule
• Holiday coverage as needed
• Float to other ICUs or IMCs as required
• Uses Epic EMR
• Provide specialized nursing care to critical post-surgical and trauma patients in a high-acuity ICU setting
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary ICU team in a fast-paced trauma environment
• Orientation and training provided on unit policies and Epic EMR
• Scrub color/dress code follows facility policy
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate except at specified locations subject to a 60-mile rule

Requirements

• Active MD or compact RN license
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• A minimum of 2 years recent Surgical ICU experience in a large facility (500+ beds)
• Experience in a Level II Trauma Center required
• At least 2 previous travel assignments in similar settings
• Epic charting experience required
• Critical Care Certification and trauma course preferred
