Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a PCU RN with an active AL or compact license, ACLS and BLS, and strong cardiac monitoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with potential to float to MedSurg units
• Handles patient ratios of 1:5
• Patient populations include MS/Tele, Telemetry, and Stepdown cases
• Manages cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Day shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week from 7:00 to 19:30
• Required to work every other weekend
• First time travelers are accepted for this position
• Local candidates within 60 miles are eligible, with adjusted rates
• Responsibilities include initiating IVs, monitoring cardiac status, managing drips, and responding to emergencies

Requirements

• Active AL or compact RN license required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• PCU/Stepdown and telemetry experience required
• Ability to start IVs and manage Heparin protocols
• Capable of managing cardiac drips (no titration)
• Strong skills in cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Must be able to float to MedSurg units
