Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN Educator for the Family Birthplace Unit, specializing in operating room circulation education for C-sections and requiring advanced experience in L&D or circulating for C-sections.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the Family Birthplace Unit focusing on OR education for C-sections
• Day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, 12-hour shifts
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Meditech Expanse EMR experience strongly preferred
• Role includes educating staff on operating room procedures related to C-sections
• Assignment includes an 8-hour orientation
• Maximum of three days requested time off (RTO) will be accepted; all RTO must be submitted prior to offer
• Holiday coverage required as part of rotation
• Travelers residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible
• Facility provides COVID exemption process requiring provider or religious leader signature; travelers with an exemption must wear a mask at all times onsite
• Professional attire or unit-specific dress code required
• Work in a multidisciplinary team environment with a focus on perinatal education

Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN license required at time of consideration
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher degree required
• American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications must be in hand at time of application
• Minimum 3 years of current RN Educator experience in the perinatal field required
• Experience teaching OR circulation for C-sections required
• Experience as a straight L&D RN without circulating C-sections not accepted
• Skills Checklists for Educator and Labor & Delivery within one year required
• One supervisory signed reference from the past two years required
• Must have own vehicle for assignment
• COVID vaccination required with dose date on or after 10/3/23 or completed exemption form
