Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab position requiring a NJ or compact RN license, two years of critical care experience, and strong on-call availability.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital-based Cardiac Catheterization Lab
• Schedules consist of Monday through Friday, either 7am-5pm or 8am-6pm with four 10-hour shifts
• No routine weekend shifts required
• On-call required for 10-12 shifts per month, including one weekend per month
• Candidates must be within 30 minutes of the facility for on-call response
• Travelers may be required to float to a nearby sister hospital
• Uses Epic charting system
• Provide direct patient care for cardiac catheterization procedures across a range of patient populations
• Perform comprehensive and systematic patient assessments and deliver individualized nursing care
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Participate in pre-operative and postoperative patient education
• Demonstrate competent use of emergency equipment and protocols
• Follow national safety goals and facility protocols, including patient identification and safe transfer techniques
• Assignment may be up to one year with a required break before reassignment
• Professional, courteous, and patient-centered communication is expected

Requirements

• Active NJ or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years critical care experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility; locals are not eligible
