Job Description

American Traveler seeks an Occupational Therapist for an inpatient rehabilitation assignment requiring at least 1 year of acute rehab experience and an AK license or eligibility.

Responsibilities

  • Work in an inpatient rehabilitation hospital serving a diverse patient population including stroke, spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic conditions, and amputations
  • 10-bed LTACH/ICU and 46-bed inpatient rehabilitation units
  • Day shifts, four 10-hour shifts per week with options including Sun/Mon/Thu/Fri or Mon/Tue/Thu/Fri
  • Approximately 2 weekend days per month are required if not included in a regular schedule
  • No call or floating outside of the assigned facility
  • Epic EMR is used and experience is required
  • Free parking is available
  • Provide therapy services to patients recovering from a variety of complex conditions
  • Travelers are expected to float between all facilities within the state if needed
  • Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as travelers and cannot live within 50 miles of the facility
  • Minimal or no RTO is preferred; all time-off requests must be submitted up front
  • Scrub color is flexible
  • Two supervisory references covering one year of employment in a comparable setting within the last three years are required for consideration

Requirements

  • Current AK Occupational Therapist license or eligibility to obtain one (license required if applicable)
  • Current BLS and NBCOT certification
  • Minimum 1 year acute rehab facility experience required; IRF experience preferred
  • Experience with Epic EMR system is required
  • Candidates must have a permanent address at least 50 miles from the facility
  • First-time travelers are accepted
  • Pending AK license considered, but preference given to candidates with license in hand
