Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN for a 6-week day shift contract requiring a compact or SC RN license and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a hospital medical-surgical unit with 28 inpatient beds
• Day shift with three 12-hour shifts per week, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6-7
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• No on-call responsibility
• Floating within the scope, including to like units, may be required
• Documentation is completed in Epic EMR
• Dress code requires royal blue scrubs
• Free parking available
• Provide comprehensive nursing care to a diverse Med/Surg patient population
• Completion of required online modules prior to start
• Assignment may include emergency response duties during hurricane season, June through November
• RTO must be submitted upfront; approval based on facility needs and holidays
• Block scheduling requests can be made but are not guaranteed

Requirements

• Active SC or Compact RN license must be current and in hand prior to start
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year recent Med/Surg nursing experience required
• SSN and driver's license required for consideration
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility
• Epic experience preferred but not required
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Previous permanent or PRN staff must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year
