Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN Staff Development Coordinator for a Long Term Care position requiring LTC experience and SPICE certification.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a Long Term Care (LTC) setting
  • Serves as Staff Development Coordinator for nursing staff
  • Day shift schedule (5x8 hours, 8:00-17:00)
  • On-call nurse responsibilities are required as per facility policy
  • May be required to provide direct patient care as needed
  • Coordinates orientation and ongoing in-service education for nursing staff
  • Leads annual skills day for nurses and nursing assistants
  • Ensures all staff licensure and certifications are current
  • Manages and investigates incidents, medication errors, and monitors infections
  • Completes and submits nursing assistant renewal forms
  • Reports to the Director of Nursing and/or Administrator
  • Must be available 24/7 per on-call requirement

Requirements

  • Active NC or compact RN license with no disciplinary action
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent Long Term Care experience
  • SPICE certification required
  • Documentation of work experience within 3 years prior to consideration
