Job Description

American Traveler seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist (CCC-SLP, BLS) with at least 2 years of experience for an acute care department serving a diverse patient population.

Responsibilities

  • Work in an acute care hospital setting supporting patients throughout the hospital
  • Serve patients with a wide range of medical and surgical diagnoses, including ICU, stroke, neurological, dysphagia, respiratory compromise, and cognitive impairments
  • Day shift, 8 hours per shift, with a schedule of 5 shifts per week
  • Schedule varies; minimum 2 weekends per 4 weeks, with preference for coverage up to 4 weekends per 4 weeks
  • No on-call required
  • Provide evaluation and treatment for swallowing, communication, and cognitive disorders across a broad acuity spectrum
  • Work with interdisciplinary teams in a dynamic acute care environment
  • No local candidates within a 50-mile radius will be considered
  • Permanent staff returning as travelers must have a 2-year break before eligibility
  • Minimum 13-week contract duration
  • RTO (requested time off) must be declared up front
  • Weekend coverage is required based on department needs

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Current CCC-SLP certification
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the specialty
  • Prior acute care experience preferred
  • Proficiency with MBS/FEES is a plus but not required
  • License required if applicable
