Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro/Surgical ICU position in Birmingham, AL, requiring an AL or compact RN license and strong ICU skills.
Responsibilities
- Work in a Neuro/Surgical ICU within a hospital setting
- 12-bed unit with patient ratios from 1:1 to 1:3
- Cares for neuro and intensive care patients
- Uses ventilators, arterial lines, and central venous lines
- Uses Cerner for electronic medical records
- Night shift schedule from 18:30 to 07:00
- Required to work every other weekend
- May float as needed within scope, including facilities within a 25-mile radius
- No call requirements
- Responsible for delivering care to neuro and surgical intensive care patients in a critical care environment
- Navy scrubs are required; scrubs are mandatory attire
- First time travelers are welcome to apply
Requirements
- Active AL or compact RN license required
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in Neuro and Surgical ICU settings
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Experience with ICU equipment including ventilators, art lines, and CVLs
- Cerner EMR experience preferred
