Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU/SICU night shift position requiring a current NY RN license and proficiency with Epic EMR.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Surgical and Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit (ICU/SICU)
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am
- Care for critical neurological and surgical patient populations
- No blocked scheduling is permitted
- Competency testing required with two attempts permitted for ICU units
- Travelers may not reside in Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, or Washington counties
- No local candidates within a 50-mile radius as defined by stated counties
- Maximum of three call outs permitted during a 13-week contract, with mandatory make-up shifts
- RTO (requested time off) must be submitted with application
- Travel pairs are not allowed
- Must complete all required onboarding documentation and verification forms
Requirements
- Active NY RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of recent Neuro ICU or Surgical ICU experience required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA or RQI
- Epic EMR experience is required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more in the past 12 months
- U.S. Social Security Number required; Canadian SIN not accepted
- Medical exemption only for flu vaccination, signed by a licensed professional

SICU is clickie and you can get fired easily. Some providers seem rude to black travelers
