Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist with at least 2 years of IR experience and current ACLS/BLS certifications for a Level II trauma acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital IR/Vascular department with a total of 7 procedure rooms (4 Cath Lab/EP, 3 IR/Vascular)
• Average of 20+ cases per day across all rooms, including IR and vascular procedures
• Common procedures include port placements, liver biopsy, IVC placements, g-tube placements, PICC & central line placements, neuro (coiling, thrombectomy, embolizations), fem-pops, AAA repair, carotids, EVAR, and angios
• Schedule is Monday-Friday, 4x10 hour shifts (7:00 AM–5:30 PM) or 5x8 hour shifts (7:00 AM–3:30 PM)
• Call required approximately once every third weekday and weekend, includes holiday call as needed
• Call response time is 30 minutes
• Floating may be required, especially for hybrid vascular cases
• Cerner EMR in use, transitioning to Epic
• Provided scrubs, may wear own scrub caps
• Responsibilities include preparing procedure suites, ensuring radiation safety, calibrating and troubleshooting imaging equipment, assisting physicians with device exchanges and interventions, and maintaining room turnover
• Team includes 1 RN and 2 Techs for IR, with anesthesia support for neuro cases
• Department provides 2–3 days of comprehensive orientation including shadowing and buddy call
• No call during the first week; buddy system for second week on call before independent call is assigned
• Former employees must be gone for at least 6 months and must receive hospital approval before reconsideration
• Local candidates within 80 miles are eligible but will receive a reduced rate
• Scrubs are provided; personal scrub caps are permitted
• All staff must clock in and out

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years recent Interventional Radiology experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA)
• License required if applicable and must be active by start date
• Two professional references: one from a supervisor within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and one from a peer or supervisor within the last 3 years
• Experience with Cerner preferred; ability to learn new EMR systems helpful
