Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Step Down RN with at least 2 years of experience, ACLS, BLS, NIH certification, and a CT or compact RN license for a night shift assignment.

Responsibilities

• Position is based in a short-term acute care hospital in a Step Down unit
• Level II Trauma Center setting
• Work schedule is 3x12 hour night shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
• Every other weekend required
• Floating to other units as needed
• Uses Epic EMR; Epic experience is required
• Primary responsibilities include providing patient care for step down level patients in a busy hospital setting
• Staff parking is free and available on site
• Team environment with faculty and support staff
• Candidates may float to other departments within skill set as needed
• Holiday coverage is required based on department needs
• Up to 7 days of requested time off may be approved
• First time travelers are welcome to apply

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum of 2 years’ recent RN experience in a step down unit
• Epic charting experience required
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required unless religious or medical exemption is provided
• Candidates must live at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel rate
• Returning previous perm staff must have been gone at least 2 years to be considered
