Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with at least 2 years of recent critical care experience and active GA or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in an ICU caring for adult and geriatric patients
• Typical assignments include ARDS, sepsis, stroke, STEMI, DKA, post-op complications, cardiogenic shock, GI bleed, COPD exacerbation, encephalopathy, liver failure, drug overdose, and ESRD on CRRT
• Patient ratios are 1:2-3 with an average daily census of 19 in a 24-bed unit
• Night shift position (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:00), with every other weekend required
• Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed
• Uses Epic EMR and Pyxis medication system, with SBAR for communication
• No block scheduling or special scheduling requests allowed
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Role includes managing complex critical care patients and operating advanced life-support equipment
• Travel pairs are not permitted to work the same shift in the same unit
• Must be available to work major holidays as outlined in assignment policies
• Maximum of 7 days requested time off (RTO) allowed, excluding holiday RTO
• Compliance with all onboarding requirements is necessary to start on time
• Locals are accepted at the same rate
• Orientation hours are determined by contract length

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Must provide copies of required certifications for consideration
• Two supervisory references from manager level or above are highly preferred
• Ability to wear navy blue scrubs per dress code
• Returning travelers must have been away from all Piedmont facilities for at least one full year
