Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry unit working with post-op surgical patients, requiring a KY or compact RN license and BLS/ACLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a busy, fast-paced 23-bed medical surgical Telemetry unit
• Patient population includes orthopedic, spine, general surgery, and bariatric post-op patients, with occasional overflow from medical units
• Cardiac and O2 monitoring capabilities in unit
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts per week (19:00-7:30)
• Floating required to other units within skillset and to nearby affiliate hospitals
• Unit routinely receives 10-20 post-op patients per day
• Requires both medical and surgical nursing skillset
• First-time travelers may be considered if surgical experience requirements are met
• All requested time off must be disclosed during the application process; late requests will not be approved

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 1 year of recent Telemetry experience; first-time travelers must have post-op surgical patient experience (especially Orthopedics and GI surgeries)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required
• No local candidates within a 100 mile radius accepted
• No prior or current licensure hits accepted
• References from two supervisors within the last three years required
• Return staff must have been gone for at least 6 months to be considered for rehire
