Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for night shifts requiring a MD or compact RN license and at least two years of recent telemetry experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital telemetry unit covering adult and geriatric patients
• Typical nurse to patient ratio is 1:5, up to 1:6 with lower acuity
• Expected diagnoses include a variety of complex and multi-diagnosis cases in a fast-paced, high-volume setting
• Night shifts are 12 hours, starting at 7:00 PM, with 36 or 48 hours per week accepted
• Every other weekend is required, with holiday coverage as scheduled
• Floating within the specialty, to lower acuity, and to a nearby sister location as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Responsibilities include caring for adults and geriatric patients with a wide range of complex medical diagnoses
• Orientation includes CPI certification through the health system
• You may float to a sister location to assist with coverage needs
• Holiday coverage is required according to the assigned schedule

Requirements

• Active MD or compact RN license
• At least 2 years of recent telemetry nursing experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• CPI certification will be completed onsite during orientation
• First-time travelers are accepted
