Job Description
American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for night shifts requiring a MD or compact RN license and at least two years of recent telemetry experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital telemetry unit covering adult and geriatric patients
- Typical nurse to patient ratio is 1:5, up to 1:6 with lower acuity
- Expected diagnoses include a variety of complex and multi-diagnosis cases in a fast-paced, high-volume setting
- Night shifts are 12 hours, starting at 7:00 PM, with 36 or 48 hours per week accepted
- Every other weekend is required, with holiday coverage as scheduled
- Floating within the specialty, to lower acuity, and to a nearby sister location as needed
- No on-call requirements
- Responsibilities include caring for adults and geriatric patients with a wide range of complex medical diagnoses
- Orientation includes CPI certification through the health system
- You may float to a sister location to assist with coverage needs
- Holiday coverage is required according to the assigned schedule
Requirements
- Active MD or compact RN license
- At least 2 years of recent telemetry nursing experience required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required
- CPI certification will be completed onsite during orientation
- First-time travelers are accepted
