Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry unit night shift position with every other weekend and holiday requirements.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Telemetry unit of a hospital environment
- Adult and geriatric patient population with complex, multi-diagnosis cases
- Patient ratio of 1:5, up to 6 for lower acuity
- Night shifts, 3x12 hours (19:00-07:30), with both 36 or 48 hour work weeks available
- Every other weekend required, with 4 weekends in a 4-week schedule cycle
- Holiday coverage as scheduled
- Floating required within specialty, to lower acuity units, and to a sister location as needed
- No on-call requirements
- Responsible for providing care to high-volume, fast-paced telemetry patients with varied and complex health conditions
- Orientation and CPI training provided onsite during onboarding
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Holiday coverage scheduled as part of regular rotation
Requirements
- Current MD or compact RN license
- Minimum 2 years' recent telemetry nursing experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
- CPI certification will be completed on site during orientation as part of the health system onboarding
- Experience caring for adult and geriatric telemetry patients
