Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with both circulating and scrubbing skills, including robotic and ENT experience, for an evening shift position.

Responsibilities

• Hospital-based Operating Room setting at a Level 2 Trauma Center
• Handles all OR specialties except open heart cases
• Required to both circulate and scrub in surgical procedures
• Patient population includes orthopedic, vascular, general, thoracic, neuro, and ENT cases
• Robotic surgery experience required
• Work schedule consists of four evening shifts per week: two from 3:00pm-11:00pm and two from either 12:00pm-12:00am or 1:00pm-1:00am (flexibility discussed during interview)
• Call required twice per schedule
• Uses Epic for charting (EMR experience preferred)
• Scrubs are provided
• Main duties include circulating and scrubbing for a variety of surgical procedures
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Team covers a wide range of surgical specialties in a fast-paced environment
• Scrub and circulate skills checklist and work history required for consideration
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• Returning employees/travelers must have a minimum one-year break from RWJBH health system

Requirements

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care OR experience
• Experience circulating and scrubbing required
• Experience with robotic, ENT, orthopedic, vascular, general, thoracic, and neuro cases required
• Must not have been employed by the RWJBH health system in the past year
