Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery LDRP day shift position, requiring a current WA or compact RN license and specific specialty certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in an LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) unit of an acute care hospital
• Patient population includes laboring mothers and newborns
• Day shift schedule
• May have charge responsibilities and oversee other caregivers
• Documentation is done via electronic medical records and/or paper processes as per policy
• Role includes direct patient care, care management, supervision, and delegation of other caregivers
• Responsible for patient assessment, care planning, documentation, and patient education
• May be expected to function as Charge Nurse, overseeing admissions, discharges, and staff coordination
• Must demonstrate sensitivity and respect for all patient backgrounds and work in a collaborative team environment

• Emotional stability and ability to work effectively in high-stress, fast-paced scenarios are necessary

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required
• Current BLS (AHA or equivalent) required within 30 days of hire
• AAP NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required before orientation ends
• ACLS required within 6 months of hire
• AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring or NCC EFM required within 3 months of completing L&D training
• Previous acute care RN experience preferred
• Minimum one year of RN experience preferred for specialty nursing departments
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 30 lbs, and assisting with patient care equipment
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and decision-making skills
