Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Cath Lab Technologist with at least 2 years of recent cardiac cath lab experience and Epic proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Work in a diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab with 3 procedure rooms and one hybrid OR
• Day shifts with a 3x12 hour schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Call required, typically 6 evenings and one weekend per 6 weeks, with a 30-minute response time
• Adult cardiac patient population undergoing various complex procedures
• Procedures include cardiac stent placement, diagnostic catheterizations, IABP and Impella insertion, left and right heart catheterizations, PCI, PTCA, rotablader athrectomy, temporary pacemaker and VAD insertion
• Fluoroscopy and Siemens equipment utilized
• Medication system is Pyxis
• Uses Epic and McKesson for documentation; Epic experience required
• May be required to float between facilities within the state per unit policy
• Must respond to call within 30 minutes as a standard requirement
• Scrubs are provided
• All travelers are expected to float within the state as needed
• RTO requests and schedule changes must be addressed during application, and are not guaranteed once contract is offered
• Former perm staff from non-Swedish Providence facilities must be separated for at least 3 months and cannot reside within 50 miles of the facility
• COVID and flu vaccinations may be required

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab
• Proficiency with cardiac stent placement, catheterizations, IABP, Impella, PCI, PTCA, and related procedures
• Ability to accurately monitor, set up equipment, perform EKG lead placement, prep access sites, recognize life-threatening arrhythmias, and maintain sterile fields
• Experience with vascular closure systems such as Perclose and StarClose
• Isolation precautions knowledge required
• Epic charting experience required
• BLS and required certifications must be current and verifiable
• References: Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within the last 3 years in a comparable setting
• License required if applicable
• Must not be a first-time traveler
