Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a GA or compact RN license and current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Emergency Department treating adult and geriatric patients
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00–07:00)
• Experience with management of dysrhythmias, central line care, IV vasopressors, CPAP/BiPAP, ventilators, and patient triage required
• Uses Epic for electronic medical records and Pyxis medication management systems
• Floating required within facility and potentially to a sister campus as per scope of practice
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Expected to work major holidays if scheduled during assignment; RTO during major holidays is highly restricted
• Candidates must wear navy blue scrubs
• No special scheduling requests or alternate shifts are permitted
• Travel pairs cannot be assigned to the same shift on the same unit
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum of 1 year of recent ER nursing experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Experience with Epic and Pyxis preferred
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off during assignment
• Returning travelers must have been away from all facilities in the system for at least 1 year before reapplying
