Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with a GA or compact license, BLS, ACLS, NIH certifications, and at least 2 years of ICU experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in the ICU caring for adult and geriatric patients
• Diagnoses on unit include ARDS, sepsis, stroke, STEMI, DKA, post-op complications, cardiogenic shock, GI bleed, COPD exacerbation, encephalopathy, liver failure, drug overdose, and ESRD on CRRT
• Typical nurse to patient ratio is 1:2, with potential for 1:3
• Unit features 24 rooms with an average daily census of 19
• Uses Pyxis, Epic, and SBAR systems
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:00), every other weekend required
• Floating may be required within the facility and within scope of practice
• Block scheduling is not guaranteed
• Travel pairs are not permitted in the same unit or shift
• Role includes caring for critically ill patients with complex medical needs
• Navy blue scrubs are required
• Full compliance with onboarding is required to start on time, with delays of two weeks if not compliant
• Travel pairs are not permitted for the same shift or unit
• Locals will be considered at the same rate
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Must be willing to work major holidays in accordance with assignment period policy
• All requested time off must be submitted up front, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of assignment

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum of 2 years recent ICU RN experience required
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke
• Experience with a variety of critical care diagnoses and interventions
• Must provide copies of required certifications
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off; no holiday RTO unless three holidays fall during assignment
• No schedule or shift change requests permitted
• Returning travelers must have a break of at least one full year from all Piedmont facilities before returning as a traveler
