Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a small Emergency Department position requiring a GA or compact license and 2 years of ER experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a small hospital-based Emergency Department with 14 beds
• Patient population ranges from pediatrics to geriatrics
• Nurse to patient ratio is 1:4
• Specialized procedures supported by on-site ambulance for transfers and virtual wound care
• Uses Epic (required), Pyxis, SBAR, and Spacelabs systems
• Night shift schedule, three 12-hour shifts per week, 19:00 to 07:00
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Possible floating to a larger campus located approximately 3 miles away
• Parts of orientation will be held at the main campus 3 miles away
• Holiday coverage is required in accordance with assignment period and facility policy
• No special scheduling or alternate shift requests allowed; shift is firm
• Scrub color is navy blue
• No IV team; standard and advanced wound care is provided virtually
• No cafeteria on-site; vending machines are available for meals
• Maximum of 7 days RTO allowed, with no RTO permitted during spring break or for major holidays as specified by the facility
• Return travelers must have been away from all Piedmont facilities for a full year
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years recent Emergency Department RN experience required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH Stroke Scale
• Epic EMR experience required
• First-time travelers will not be considered
• Two supervisory references from manager or higher are highly preferred for consideration
• Must provide copies of certifications for consideration
• Must be fully compliant prior to start to avoid orientation delays
