Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Burn ICU position requiring Epic and basic arrhythmia experience in a Level One Trauma Center.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Burn Intensive Care Unit (BICU) within a hospital setting
- Adult and pediatric patient population with chemical, electrical, scald or thermal burns and complex wounds
- 11-bed, acuity adaptable unit at a Level One Trauma Center
- Evening and night 12-hour shifts between 15:00 and 07:30
- Every other weekend and some holidays required
- Travelers will be the first to float and may be assigned to different units or locations as needed
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team on the only ACS-verified Adult and Pediatric Burn Center in Wisconsin
- Care for critically ill burn and complex wound patients in both adult and pediatric populations
- Magnet-designated hospital environment
- Team structure includes support from experienced medical professionals
- Traveler parking on site requires permit; alternative transportation options are available
- Some holiday coverage required
- Orientation and training provided by unit
- Travelers may have shifts fully re-assigned if primary unit needs change
Requirements
- Active WI or Compact RN license required
- BLS and ACLS certifications from American Heart Association
- Minimum two years of acute care experience within the last three years
- Previous successful 13-week travel assignment completed
- ICU experience required; no prior burn experience needed
- Epic EMR experience required, preferably within the last 12 months
- Basic arrhythmia experience and ability to pass a pre-start telemetry test
- Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from primary work site
