Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry unit night shift position requiring KY or compact RN licensure, Epic charting experience, and advanced dysrhythmia interpretation.
Responsibilities
- Position based on a Telemetry unit with a primary adult and geriatric patient population
- Cardiac telemetry monitoring both on-unit and remote required
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4-5
- Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
- Epic EMR experience required for daily documentation
- Advanced dysrhythmia competency assessment required through EKG exam
- Daily responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, and care for patients with respiratory and gastrointestinal interventions
- Must adhere to isolation precaution protocols
- Will provide care for patients who have experienced CVA events
- Dress code and orientation details will be provided prior to start
- Candidates living within 75 miles are subject to local pay rates
Requirements
- Active KY or compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale
- Minimum required experience in cardiac telemetry
- Experience in interpreting dysrhythmias and telemetry monitoring
- Must have competency in blood product administration, central and peripheral line management, PICC management, IV starts, and tracheostomy care
- Experience with feeding tube management, external CPAP/BIPAP, and high flow nasal cannula required
- Two professional references required for consideration
